William T.  “Wally”  Vittetow 81

Rockford, Died on Monday, December 24, 2018 in his home at Independence Village Center.

Born on April 5, 1937 in North Aurora, Illinois to Frank F. and Dorothy E (Anderson) Vittetow.

On January 21, 1956 he was married to the Love of his Life Shirley (DeVenney) for 53 years.

His family includes, Daughter: Kristine (Dean) Reed; grandchildren Christopher Reed, Meghan (David) Duran and Joshua Reed; great grandchild, Paul Benjamin Reed. Along with his special friend: Gaila Rider and his brother, Steve (Jean) Vittetow.

He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Vittetow in 2010, son, Robert Vittetow on 2001 and his brother, Jack Vittetow in 2016.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Specialist 5th class. He worked at Ingersoll for 30 years as an Installation Manager and then for 10 plus years at Nicholson Hardware.

With his many Friends, Bill was affectionately known as “Wally”. He always had a smile, loved his Bulls, Bears and Cubs. He appreciated new cars and spending time with his family and friends. In later years he enjoyed traveling and sightseeing.

At “Wally’s” request, No services are to be held with private burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.
