Obituary

Sharon Mary Pytlik Deming passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2020 while on vacation in Vero Beach, FL.  Sharon is lovingly remembered as an amazing mom and grandma, a voracious reader, a devoted Packers fan, and a lover of beautiful sunsets.

She was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Marcella, brother Earl, and stepmother Della. She is survived by her children Mandy (Mike) and Chris from her previous marriage to Rick, her grandchildren Ellie and Kyan, and her partner Jerry.  She is also survived by her sister Marleen (Rich) and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Sharon loved spending time with her kids and grandkids - cheering them on proudly in all their endeavors, driving endless hours to soccer games, and buying way too many books and learning toys for her grandkids.  She worked tirelessly as a math teacher for many years - balancing hours of school work late at night after shuttling her kids to their many activities after school.  She always made time to laugh with friends, including her best friend from first grade Laurie.

She shared the back half of her life with her partner and fellow Illinois Packer Backer Jerry. After they both finished their long teaching careers, they loved travelling the world but always ended every summer at the cottages in Fish Creek (Door County), WI, described by Sharon as her “happy place” full of White Gull Inn breakfasts, bells on rocking sailboats to wake her in the morning, Not Licked Yet frozen custard, and memories of her children “walking on the wall.”  She and Jerry spent Friday nights enjoying good food and many laughs with their close friends in “The Friday Night Group”.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at Anderson-Long-Klontz Funeral Home at later TBD date, due to the current crisis related to the Covid-19 virus and its impact on travel and social gatherings.  We look forward to seeing many of Sharon’s friends and loved ones at that time gather together to share memories and laughter.  Sharon appreciated this quote by W. H. Auden, “Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can - all of them make me laugh.”
